Gardaí in Crumlin are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a Garda at Ravensdale Park on Tuesday evening.
At around 8 o'clock, a Detective Garda attached to the Sundrive Road station was assaulted when investigating an incident at the park.
He was brought to St James' Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and has since been released.
Gardai are interested in speaking to anyone who was in Ravensdale Park between 7.30pm and 9.15pm on Tuesday night.
In particular they want to speak to a woman who was pushing a child in a pram, and two men wearing suits who were coming from work in the area around the time of the assault.
