Inner City Helping Homeless took a family with 3 children under 5 off the streets last night.
They were sleeping in Mountjoy Square Park after being evicted from their home in Fatima.
Last week homeless services in Dublin were unable to place people in temporary accommodation on two days after maxing out their credit card.
Fr. Peter McVerry says the problem can be solved easily.
"Increasing the rent supplement to a level that allows families to pay the increased rents would reduce the number of families coming into homelessness to a trickle and the government have absolutely set their sights on refusing to do that."
