Evidence is due to get underway today at the trial of three former Anglo Irish Bank executives.

Sean Fitzpatrick, Willie McAteer and Pat Whelan deny participating in a scheme to provide unlawful financial assistance to 16 individuals to buy shares in the bank in July 2008.

Fifteen jurors are sworn for the trial.

Some of the individuals they are accused of providing unlawful financial assistance to include the family of the former billionaire Sean Quinn and developers Seamus Ross and Paddy McKillen.

It’s alleged that the money was for the purpose of buying shares in Anglo back in 2008.

More than 100 witnesses are to be called to give evidence and the jury has been told the trial could last up to 4 months.
