Airlines Pressure EU Over Consumer Rights

Airlines are being accused of lobbying the EU to make passenger compensation more difficult to obtain.

An EU working group is due to finalise its recommendations on the matter later today.

Passengers are due compensation if flights are delayed by 3 hours - but the industry wants that increased to 5 hours.

It's also pressing for a new exemption for compensating passengers called: "unexpected flight safety shortcoming".
