A number of firearms have been seized in connection with dissident republican activity following the search of premises on the northside of Dublin today.
Semi automatic pistols, a sawn-off shotgun and an AK 47 assault rifle were discovered during the searches in Ballymun, East wall and Cloughran.
Gardaí also discovered bomb making material at one of the location's where the assistance of the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was sought in order to render the area safe.
Meanwhile, two men remain in garda custody following the seizure of 4 handguns, 1 shotgun and ammunition during a raid on a house in East Wall yesterday afternoon.
The men - aged in their 50's - were arrested at the scene.
They are being held at Mountjoy and Coolock Garda Stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
