An investigation is underway into what caused a house fire in Co. Cork, which claimed the life of a 22 year old woman.
At around 3.30 this morning, the alarm was raised after a blaze broke out at a terraced house on the New Cork Road in Midleton.
Fire fighters from Midleton and Cobh rushed to the scene. A 22 year old woman was taken from the building and pronounced dead at the scene.
Three others - two men aged 65 and 27 and a 31 year old woman, were taken to the Mercy University Hospital, Cork - but their injuries were not life threatening and they've since been discharged.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and an investigation is underway.
However, Gardaí say at this stage they're not treating it as suspicious.
