98FM's Big Swim has raised over €10,000 for Special Olympics Ireland. Our very own Brian Maher completed a 10km swim from Poolbeg Lighthouse to Sandycove in 3.5 hours yesterday.
To put that into perspective - Swimming 10km is the equivalent of swimming the entire length of Croke Park 62 times or the Dublin Spire 82 times and yes it is even the equivalent of swimming the entire length of a Dublin bus 833 times!
The presenter is raising funds to help send Irish athletes to the World Games in Abu Dhabi next March.
You can donate HERE. Donations of €4 can also be made by texting the world ‘Athlete’ to 50300*.
What an experience! I thought the sea had me defeated a couple of times but I knew with all the training, all the effort of organizing and who I was doing it for, i wouldn’t let it! Thanks so much to everyone who came out to support me, it meant a lot. #98FMBigSwim pic.twitter.com/85l9qk2J9f
