7.5 Per Cent Drop In Ireland's Prison Population

Sorting out the overcrowding in our jails could stop criminals re-offending.

That's the claim being made by a prison lobby group today, as it's revealed we're locking up fewer people.

There was 7 and a half percent drop in the prison population between January and November last year.

And Liam Herrick of the Irish Penal Reform Trust told 98FM that we're headed in the right direction:
