30,000 Puppies Are Exported To The UK From Ireland Each Year

Animal rights groups are calling for greater legal reprecussions for those who abuse animals.

Over 50 animal rescue groups will take part in an animal rights rally on O' Connell Street.

According to the DSPCA 30,000 puppies are exported to the UK from Ireland each year.

John Carmody- Campaign co-ordinator for the Animal Rights Action Network- says Ireland is known as the puppy farming capital of Europe
