Gardai and the Irish Prison Service are investigating after an inmate was found dead in Limerick Prison, in the early hours of this morning.
The 25-year-old, who was originally from Co. Tipperary and serving time for manslaughter, is thought to have died from a drug overdose.
A post mortem is due to be carried out on his body later today.
Members of An Garda Siochana and the Prison Service, are conducting separate investigations surrounding the man's sudden death.
