1,700 people woke to no power this morning

Over 17 hundred people have woken up to no power this morning, after overnight storm damage to the ESB network.

Crews have been working through the night to restore power to the customers in Meath, Clare, Mayo and Wexford.

The majority of those affected are in Oldcastle, Co Meath where 800 people are effected by a single fault.

Miltown Malbay in County Clare, Claremorris in Co Mayo and the South cost of Wexford has also been impacted.

ESB Networks is asking customers to report any fallen wires or emergency situations to 1850 372 999.
