We have new music from Ed Sheeran!

He explained that the song is a tribute to his best friend Jamal Edwards who passed away last year.
Jamal was just 31 years old and died in February 2022 after going into cardiac arrest.
In interviews Ed Sheeran explained:
“This song is about losing someone, feeling like every time you go out and you expect to just bump into them, and every thing just reminds you of them and things you did together,”
“You sorta have to take yourself out of reality sometimes to numb the pain of loss, but certain things just bring you right back into it.” he added.
While Sheeran originally envisioned Eyes Closed as a break-up song, it changed significantly when Edwards passed, with the singer using a huge blue monster to manifest his grief and sadness for his loss.
The song is the fifth single off his fifth studio album Subtract.
