Man Dies Following "Low Impact Collision" At Grand Parade

Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic incident in Dublin 6 yesterday evening are appealing for witnesses.

Shortly before 6 o'clock, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted following a low impact collision involving two cars at Grand Parade.

The driver of one of the cars, a man in his late 60s, was treated at the scene and taken to St. Vincent’s University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the second car did not require immediate medical treatment.

A post mortem exam is due to take place, which will determine the course of the investigation.

A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic incident at Grand Parade, Dublin 6 on Monday, 18th December, 2023 are appealing for witnesses.

"Shortly before 6pm, Gardaí and Emergency Services were alerted following a low impact collision involving two cars at Grand Parade, Dublin 6.

"The driver of one of the cars involved, a male in his late 60s, was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel and removed by ambulance to St. Vincent’s University Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

"The driver of the second car did not require immediate medical treatment.

"The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the Grand Parade area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
