We haven't been having the best summer weather wise but things are set to look up this week. According to Met Eireann, temperatures are on the rise and are expected to hit between 17°C and 19°C over the coming days.

There's some rain around this morning in Dublin but it will be drier and brighter this afternoon and evening with some sunny spells developing and highs of 17 degrees. Tonight will be dry with clear spells.

Tuesday in the capital will be dry and bright, with a mix of sunny spells and occasional cloudy periods. Top temperatures 16 to 18 C.

See a day by day breakdown for Ireland from Met Eireann below:

Tuesday:

A mainly dry day with sunny spells; just a few passing showers will occur most likely over Ulster.
A fresh day with good drying; highest temperatures 14 to 19 degrees in light westerly breezes.

Wednesday:

Mild and increasingly humid in a moderate south to southwest breeze. Mainly dry and bright over Leinster and east Munster, with some hazy sunshine at times and temperatures of 18 or 19 C.

Thursday:

Close and humid. Further dull, wet weather for a time, but some dry, bright spells should develop later in the afternoon and evening, allowing some hazy sunshine to come through. Top temperatures of 16 to 20 C.

It's expected to remain mild and humid towards the end of the week. Some heavy rain is expected on Friday but Saturday is set to be bright with sunny spells.
