We may not admit it but we all do it! Reheating our leftovers after a night out on the town is almost a tradition.

But did you know you are not just reheating your food but you could be reheating some other not so appetizing stuff as well!

Mushrooms

Nutrilover.com tells us that "change in the composition of proteins" can occur after reheating mushrooms. This can result in them losing their health benefits and cause different types of digestive problems.

Rice

If not stored correctly before reheating, according to the Food Standards Agency, "uncooked rice can contain spores of bacteria that can cause food poisoning. When the rice is cooked, the spores can survive... then, if the rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores will multiply and may produce poisons that cause vomiting or diarrhoea. Reheating the rice won't get rid of these poisons."

Chicken

If you're going to reheat your chicken make sure it's cooked all the way through and is piping hot. Even cut it up to be sure so that you don't have any unwanted digestive problems.

Potatoes

Make sure to store your potatoes correctly before reheating them or you could be left feeling very sick. Always put them in the fridge after preparation because if they cool to room temperature and the conditions are right, growth of Botulism may occur.

So always remember if you are going to reheat your food make sure it is stored correctly before you do!
