BMW M cars have always been synonymous with the more powerful road cars. The "M" (for Motorsport) was initially created to facilitate BMW’s racing program in the 1960s and 1970s.

Eventually BMW saw a gap in the market, giving drivers the opportunity to spec up their normal road cars into track demons. Incredibly the new M5 has almost 600bhp, that figure truly boggles the mind considering it’ has four doors and a big boot. There's always the option of the M4, an aggressive setup in a coupe shaped body. Or how about the baby of the bunch, the M2? It's smaller, cheaper and only comes with two doors. So, how do they feel to drive flat out on the track?

Well, Luke found out.
