The granddaddy of the two door sports car, the Mazda MX5 has been around for over 25 years. The latest model comes with a retractable fastback roof and a slightly tweaked harder look.
There are two engines to choose from, a 1.5 and a 2.0-litre, both come with a six-speed manual gearbox. The 2.0-litre version gets some extra equipment over the 1.5, like a limited-slip differential, which boosts traction out of corners.
So, why would you buy a car with only two doors, a tiny boot and no glove box? Well we found out up the Dublin Mountains in the all new Mazda Mx5.
