Despite fashion behemoths like Penneys continuing to go from strength to strength and supermarkets like Lidl and Tesco pushing clothing lines, it appears vintage stores are still enjoying a moment in Dublin.

Maybe they're more accessible, perhaps its the Macklemore effect or maybe there's a longing for clothes with longevity.

We're used to hearing patronising stories about capricious millennials (ugh, that word!) and their flights of fancy, but in Dublin there's still a hunger for vintage prints and colourful second-hand jewellery.

Finding something different has never been easier and with festival season around the corner, a charity shop can help you put together a statement look while donating to a good cause.

We're taking a look at the city's top thrifty spots:

With Love

With Love is a stunning charity shop in Clontarf, covered in flowers and with picnic seats outside. It does what it says on the tin; you can feel the love in this store. There's the typical pretty heels and bags but you're bound to l pick up a candle or ornament for your mum on the way out. The high quality items look like they could be straight out of M&S.

Address: To Children With Love Limited, Seaview House, 192 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin 3.

St Vincent’s Charity Shop

The store on George’s Street takes second hand shopping to a new level. It's full of vintage jumpers, shirts and dresses. It is organised and easy to find what you’re looking for and is one of the largest charity shops in Dublin.

This is a store that has it all. From the unusual to the perfect outfit for your friend’s birthday party. Keep an eye on their Facebook and Twitter pages where they often advertise pop up sales.

There's more of a vintage feel off this shop in Phibsboro. Think china from your grandmother's kitchen cabinet. Don't be afraid to dig around because you can find some real hidden gems. The staff's charm and helpfulness is famous and they're highly involved in the community. Your're guaranteed to walk out with a smile on your face, if not a full bag.
