It's actually an annual fundraising gig for this zoo in Texas. They've been doing it around Valentine's Day every year that it's now a bit of a "global phenomenon".
They give you the chance to officially name on of their cockroaches after your ex, donating some money to the zoo in the process. Worth every penny we hear you say?
As part of your donation, you get a cert confirming that the cockroach has been named after your "not-so-special someone", and they also give you the option of sending the same cert to your ex so they're aware of their namesake 😂
San Antonio Zoo aren't the only ones advertising this opportunity to Valentine's Day haters.
El Paso Zoo in Texas not only let's you name their cockroaches after your ex - they also feed them to the animals at the zoo!
Toronto Zoo also offer up this service but balance it out with a less cynical option - a chance to adopt a penguin couple to spread the love on Valentine's Day ♥
