Whether you fancy a pub crawl, a relaxing spa getaway, a night on the tiles, a cocktail master class or an adrenaline-fuelled adventure, we've teamed up with The Wedding Journal Show to round up our top eight destinations across Ireland sure to get the craic going!

Westport

Westport, situated in Co. Mayo is often referred to as a ‘little gem of the west’.  Popular for both hen parties and tourists, Westport offers beautiful scenic views over the ocean, lively nightlife, a clean and picturesque town and a multitude of fun activities!  We recommend checking out the Westport Plaza Hotel, where you can experience anything from a ‘Spa Sula experience’, afternoon tea, a cocktail master class and more.

For a classy and stylish affair consider fascinator making class, a castle tour and afternoon tea.

For an outdoor celebration, check out one of Ireland’s most famous golf courses or take up some water sports on the rippling waters of Clew Bay.

End the day in a traditional Irish bar on Castlebar Street and Bridgestreet – where they welcome hen parties with open arms.

Kilkenny

Kilkenny is a delightful and popular hen party town situated in the south-east of Ireland. This medieval city offers fantastic packages and tours for any history-loving brides-to-be as it is brimming with historic sites and rich heritage.

Take a stroll along the Medieval Mile – with its beautiful buildings, diverse arts and crafts culture and stylish bars and restaurant in close walking distance- Kilkenny makes for a stylish hen party experience.

For something different why not consider some Bubble soccer, pole dancing or one of Kilkenny’s escape rooms before a night on the tiles.

Dublin

We of course couldn’t create a list of the best hen party locations in Ireland without mentioning our fair city! One of the most popular hen party destinations around the world, Dublin is bursting with charismatic venues, accommodation and activities for any type of hen party.

Spend your afternoon shopping on Grafton Street and getting pampered in salons like Tropical Popical and Dry and Fly before hitting the town for a traditional Dublin pub crawl (Temple bar included!) or check out the many nightclubs, bars and restaurants such as Nolita, Sophie's, The Jar, Roberta's, Xico, The Grayson.

We recommend a Pedi Bus Pub crawl, an Irish dance class and a Guinness Storehouse tour for an authentic experience. Whatever you’re preference, the hen party opportunities here in Dublin are endless.

Galway

Often referred to as the cultural heart of Ireland, Galway is the perfect hen party getaway for gals looking for an authentic Irish hen do! A large city situated on a harbour of Ireland’s West coast, Galway has a stunning setting and is a great location for water sports e.g. Windsurfing, zorbing, kayaking.

Not only does it offer wet and wild activities (including a river cruise aboard the Corrib Princess!) but there is also a selection of relaxing pamper escapes such as the G Hotel & Spa and buzzing nightclubs such as Karma.

Following a trad session and a delightful fresh seafood dish, be allured by the charm of Eyre Square, the highlight of the city where you can dance the night away!

Carrick-on-Shannon

A hugely popular hen party destination in Ireland, Carrick-on-Shannon in Co. Leitrim is a great choice for a night to remember! Boasting a great selection of pubs and clubs, the spirited atmosphere of this town is one of the reasons this location is a favourite.

Why not take a naked drawing class, cruise along the Shannon River on a boat, have a farm weekend or opt for something unusual such as dressing as Mrs Doyle and her grannies?

Carlingford

The coastal town of Carlingford in Co. Louth is quickly becoming a popular hen party destination, and it’s easy to see why! With its compact layout, rich history and endless list of activities it serves as a fantastic hen party destination.

We recommend checking out archery, taking part in a themed afternoon tea party or enjoying a cupcake baking class.

For all you adrenaline junkies, the Carlingford Adventure, Land Sea & Sky packages could be perfect for you – think a crystal maze team, laser combat, water sports and tree top zip-lining!

The town of Sligo on the North West coast of Ireland is a favourite amongst hens and tourists alike. Alive with beautiful views and vibrant culture, Sligo is also renowned for a ‘party town’ label where crowds gather on sunny evenings outside sipping gin, cocktails and beers around the Garavogue River whilst enjoying the craic – the perfect hen destination!

Not only does it have the best nightlife, but there are also an abundance of activities. Take a Beyoncé dance class, go on a treasure hunt, take a jewellery making class or opt for a girly weekend getaway package at the Glasshouse Hotel.

Cork

Ireland’s second largest city Cork is situated on the south of Ireland and is a fantastic destination for any prospective hen party, known for its unique culture and cracking nightlife! Surrounded by the River Lee, it makes for an excellent water-sports orientated hen activity for all those daring and adventurous brides-to-be! It is also a great location for any foodies, as Cork boasts some of the best restaurants that Ireland has to offer, no matter what your cuisine you prefer.

If you don’t fancy splashing about or dining out, take a cocktail class, watch a comedy show, spend a night at the races, enjoy a roller disco or indulge in a personal shopping experience before hitting the top-class pubs, clubs and bars at night.
