Temperatures To Drop Below Freezing On Saturday Night

The weather forecast isn't looking too shabby for the May Bank Holiday Weekend. However, temperatures could drop below freezing on Saturday night.

Met Eireann's latest weather forecast predicts mainly dry and sunny weather over the coming days but it will be cold at night time across the country. So, if you're heading out on Saturday evening, make sure you bring a jacket.

"Mostly dry and settled at first, but turning more changeable and unsettled next week, with rain or showers becoming widespread and heavy in places. Becoming windy too with strong and gusty easterly winds developing. Cool throughout", the forecaster stated.

Meanwhile, in Dublin today it will be mainly dry and bright, with a mix of cloud and sunshine. There could be the off light shower in places. Top temperatures of 12 to 14C.

Tonight will be cold, clear and breezy with lows of 1 to 3 degrees with some grass frost in places. Some rain or hail showers may affect some coastal areas.

Saturday in Dublin will be bright and sunny with some cloudy periods. It'll be a fresh day with top temperatures 10 to 12 C., in moderate northerly breezes.

Saturday Night

Saturday night will be mostly dry but cold. Lowest temperatures of -1 to plus 2 C., with a widespread grass frost. A few showers may affect parts of the north coast.

Sunday

Sunday will start cold with grass frost clearing. Sunday morning will be dry, bright and sunny with some cloud and more sunny spells expected in the afternoon.

A few light showers will affect parts of the north coast. It will be rather cool over Ulster, northern parts of Connacht and Leinster, with highs of just 9 or 10 C.

Temperatures higher elsewhere, with top values of 12 to 14 C., in light variable breezes.

Sunday Night

Cold overnight, with lows of zero to plus 3 C., in almost calm conditions, with grass frost in places. A few showers will affect parts of the north coast.

Monday

Monday will be mainly dry and cloudy with sunny spells. There'll be some showers over Ulster. Temperatures are expected to be below average with highs of 9 to 12 C.

Monday Night 

Cloudy overnight, with patches of mist and drizzle in places and lows of 3 to 6 C.

Tuesday through Wednesday

Wet weather is set to spread from the southwest during Tuesday, in freshening easterly winds. Staying cloudy and wet overnight and through Wednesday, with some heavy rain expected in more southern parts of the country.

Windy Tuesday night and Wednesday too, with strong and gusty east to northeast winds with gales on coasts. Cool, temperatures still below normal and feeling colder in the wind and rain.
