Netflix look set to launch "offline mode" before the end of the year.

At present, the streaming service only allows viewers consume content whilst connected to the Internet. But we could soon have the option to "save" shows and films to devices.

Insiders expect it will be limited to original Netflix series such as 'House of Cards', 'Narcos' and 'Orange Is The New Black'.

Penthera COO Dan Taitz told Light Reading: "My expectation is that by the end of the year Netflix will be launching download-to-go as an option for their customers."
