Meet The Young Designer Of The Year Finalists

It's that time of year again, the Dublin Fashion Festival kicked off yesterday, and tomorrow the winner of the Young Designer Of The Year will be announced.

There are 12 lucky finalists in the running. They were chosen by a select judging panel including Irish Independent's Fashion Editor Bairbre Power, renowned fashion photographer Barry McCall, TV3 Exposé producer Debbie O'Donnell, owner of The Design Centre Ashling Kilduff, head of personal and private shopping at Brown Thomas Caroline Hanratty, and head of personal and private shopping in Arnotts Clara Halpin.

The finalists and their designs will take part in a spectacular catwalk show outside the Bank of Ireland College Green tomorrow September 7th.

The 2016 Young Designer of the Year finalists are: 

Nino Sanaia – NCAD

Young Designer of the Year Award

Sarah Murphy – Griffith College

The Young Designer of the Year Award

Jordan Robinson – Ulster University

Young Designer of the Year Award

Karla Bowden – NCAD

Young Designer of the Year

Aishling Duff – NCAD

Young Designer of the Year

Naoimi Ajetunmobi – Grafton Academy of Dress Design

Young Designer of the Year Award

Hannah Vail – Ulster University

Young Designer of the Year

JJ Donnelly – NCAD

Young Designer of the Year

Laura Ward – Ulster University

Young Designer of the Year

Ailbhe Griffin –NCAD
