If you're having a bad day, this might cheer you up! A Garda came to the rescue of an injured dog over the weekend.

Three people in Waterford called the Gardaí after they found the pooch while walking the cliffs.

The dog, named Bailey, was unable to walk. Garda O'Callaghan from Ardmore rushed to the scene and found Bailey with a broken paw.

The Garda then carried the injured dog across his shoulders for about a kilometre back to the car. Bailey was then taken to the vet to be treated.

An Garda Síochána posted a photo of Garda O'Callaghan and Bailey on their official Instagram page.

"Garda O Callghan from Ardmore got a call from three people out walking the cliffs after they found a dog with a broken paw.

"Garda O Callaghan carried him about a kilometre back to the car and then onto the vets. Thankfully "Bailey" is on the mend and back with his owner now.

Thanks to Naoive, Oisin and Jean for contacting us and taking the snap."
