We’ve covered the importance of rowing & how the right nutrition for you can help sustain an overall improvement in your health and mindfulness. This week, we’re focusing on the third pillar of the The Greenhouse: Movement.

The Greenhouse has a very clear philosophy on movement and that it’s about learning to move in everyday life, sports and other exercise with good functional movement. Learning to understand and trust your body.

The Greenhouse staff teach clients to see exercise differently, understanding how to workout through good functional movement, what they offer is not just the best in our movement but the basis of most movements.

Key to achieving this is getting a strong core with more flexibility, understanding your limits but equally your strengths which will act as a basis for everything else. The Greenhouse try to get their clients to start with an assessment in order to create a programme for them.

The starting point might be Pilates to build the core first. Equally it could be to start with heavy cardio sessions on rowing to reduce weight fast or it could be a series of mobility classes to get people moving and understand the fundamentals

Achieving the first set of goals is key before looking to build on these. Other movements/classes can be added to help build the body further, as the body needs diversity in its action. GreenHouse has classes ranging from pilates, yoga (mindful movement), mobility & movement, rowing, TRX and Fusion Classes.

Some more information on the classes available:

Movement Class

During the Movement class students will first be exposed to a solid/clear illustration/explanation of principles and terminology governing the human body, the knowledge acquired will then be applied to a broad and general “practice” that will involve a variety of movement patterns commonly used in contemporary dance, martial arts, gymnastics, parkour and life.

Mobility Class

Modern lifestyles, specific working conditions, high level of stress and lack of physical activity might negatively affect our body by restricting the natural range of motion of the joints. The mobility class will specifically focus on solving this issue by gradually restoring the full range of motion which every joint should posses.
