The Dublin Fashion Festival 2016 has officially kicked off in the city. It's a celebration of the city's shops and wide array of retailers. While most people probably associate the annual event with womenswear, organisers are keen to stress the fellas are well catered for. And to prove that point, fashion editor and stylist James Patrice has picked out his top five choices for AW16.

James says it’s been all about the waistcoats in recent years (thanks to Mr. McGregor), but now the cardigan is enjoying a resurgence. Tis the season to embrace granddad chic so try one layered up with a tweed blazer and some indigo jeans, or ease your way out of the warmer months with a plain white tee and soft chinos.

The iconic white sneaker is a menswear must-have again this year. James says the reason for its enduring popularity is "quite simply – its versatility." Team them with a biker jacket and black ripped jeans, or a classic wool blend suit with cuffed ankles. "Almost every ensemble can be given a contemporary edge with a subtle sneaker, even for formal events." (But we're not sure if your ma will see it that way if you try to wear these to your cousin's wedding...)
