Apple has unveiled some new devices which include a red iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and a new iPad.

The new iPhone comes in a vibrant red aluminium finish - to recognise Apple's partnership with (RED) which contributes to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook said:

“Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.”

“The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can’t wait to get it into customers’ hands.”

The special edition RED iPhone will be available to order online worldwide and in stores from Friday, March 24th with prices starting from $749 or around €693.

Meanwhile, the new 9.7-inch iPad features a brighter display, FaceTime cameras, Touch ID, the A9 chip and iOS 10.

It comes in three colours - silver, gold and space grey - and joins Apple's range of tablet devices, including the iPad Mini and iPad Pro.

The 9.7 inch iPad goes on sale on Friday with prices starting from $422 (around €390).

The tech giant has also announced a new video editing app called Clips, which helps users combine video clips, photos and music. Clips will be available in April on iOS 10.3.
