The former Chair of the Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) charity says lessons need to be learned from the collapse of the organisation in controversial circumstances.

David Hall was speaking after an official liquidator was appointed to wind down the Dublin charity.

The collapse was brought about following the death of it's founder Cllr. Anthony Flynn. He had been suspended from the charity after it emerged he was being investigated for allegations of sexual assault.

Mr. Hall says changes to the way the homeless charity sector is organised need to happen;

"Its a tragedy in the charity coming to an end, it's a tragedy for Anthony Flynn and his family".

He says he has written to the Minister for Justice, Housing and the Garda commissioner saying that Garda vetting needs to be introduced.
