Shamrock Rovers are the 2020 SSE Airtricity League Premier Division Champions.

After a surprise 2-0 victory for Finn Harps over Bohemians at Dalymount Park on Saturday evening, the Hoops mathematically cannot be caught at the top of the table.

Mark Russell scored in each half for the visitors to secure the league for Rovers for the first time since 2011.

Stephen Bradley's side are four points clear at the top of the table with their Dublin rivals Bohs second with just a game left to play.

Rovers meanwhile have four fixtures left to fulfill after a Covid-19 outbreak in their squad and may go the season unbeaten.

They've won 12 of their 14 games so far this year while drawing two.

Rovers are due to play Derry City in Tallaght Stadium on Wednesday.

League of Ireland clubs were told by the FAI this week that matches will no longer be postponed due to Covid-19 cases for the remainder of the season.

New guidelines were circulated to clubs, with an official FAI communication laying out methods to avoid the spread of the virus.

Among them is a pod system that recommends that players are grouped so that close contacts are reduced.
