A senior Kinahan gang member has been extradited to the UK to be sentenced for drugs charges.

Gary Vickery, who is originally from Dublin, is due to appear before Ipswich Crown Court today.

The 38 year old previously admitted to having a leading role in conspiring to import Class A and B drugs and money laundering.

But he failed to attend a hearing at Ipswich Crown Court in July.

He was arrested by Spanish Police on October 20 and was later escorted on a flight from Lanzarote by officers from the UK's National Crime Agency.

He is due in court in the UK today before appearing alongside his two co-defendants at a hearing on December 3.

Vickery's co-accused includes a second Dublin man, 42 year old Daniel Canning.

He is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to conspiring to import class A and B drugs money laundering as well as possessing a firearm and ammunition.
