Jose Mourinho says Troy Parrott is 'not ready' despite Spurs injury crisis

Troy Parrott's hopes of lining out for Tottenham as a replacement for Harry Kane or Heung Min Son have been dashed following comments by Jose Mourinho.

Son was ruled out for weeks, but could be on the sidelines for months after breaking his arm in Tottenham's win over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.

The South Korean scored a stoppage time winner while carrying the injury.

Parrott recently signed a new deal at White Hart Lane upon turning 18 years-of-age.

Kane will be out until May following surgery and Son's return to first team action is uncertain.

Ahead of tomorrow's Champions League last 16 first leg game against Leipzig at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium, Mourinho has said "the situation couldn't be worse in terms of options".

Nevertheless, he doesn't see Dublin teenager Parrott as a ready made replacement for Son or Kane in the striking department.

"My thoughts are that Troy Parrott is not ready and Ryan Sessegnon is not a striker."

It's likely that Brazilian Lucas Moura will now lead the line as Spurs battle to progress within the Champions League and qualify for it via the Premier League, where they currently lie in fifth place.
