Dan Leavy put in a man-of-the-match performance on his first start of 2020 as Leinster continued their 100 percent start to the new season this evening.

Cian Kelleher scored a second-half hat-trick of tries as the defending champions thrashed Edinburgh 50-10 in the Guinness PRO14 at the RDS.

"It's great to be back," Ireland flanker Leavy told Eir Sport when accepting the man of the match award. "It's been a long journey, I've picked up some minutes in recent weeks and I'm just raring to go.

"I got the green light today and we've had a great win and I'm delighted to be a part of it. I've done a lot of work since last March/April when I was gearing up to play before COVID hit.

"I've had a long time, doing a lot of breakdown work with Hugo Hogan, one of our coaches. But there's really nothing like getting into a game and getting some proper hits.

"I'm loving it, I'm confident in my body and I'm just looking to get some more game-time now. I think we're back in the RDS again in six days time for Cardiff so I'm trying to not look too far ahead."

Leavy grabbed his first try of the campaign, having been denied one by the TMO late on against Zebre last month.

"I made sure to show the ref that I got it over the line! I'm really delighted with the team performance and I finally got my try, yeah. I thought maybe there was a coup against me by the referees!"
