A teenager from Dublin is competing for the biggest prize pot in the history of professional video gaming at Fortnite World Cup.

17-year-old Josh Juliano will go head to head with 99 rivals vying for a $3 million dollar top prize.

The "Battle Royale" style tournament has a total purse of 30 million dollars -- almost three times the pool in this year's British Open.

The players drop in before 23-thousand people at the Arthur Ashe tennis stadium in New York from 5pm Irish time.

Josh isn't fazed by the competition.

"To prepare for a tournament like this I just work on my mindset, because obviously there's millions of people watching all over the world. So I would be focusing on my mindset, making sure it doesn't get into my head, and making sure I can perform at a top level."

"I'm feeling like no pressure right now. All I want to do is play my game and hopefully bring back the title as one of the best Fortnite players," he says.

"I've played against many European players, but I haven't played against any [North America] or people from Asia or Oceania," he said.

"My game plan for this tournament to play passive and just play really consistent -- and hopefully get some wins," he said.

He's already guaranteed to come home with $50,000.

The finals will be streamed live on the official Fortnite Twitch channel from 5pm Irish time.
