The Christmas lights are being put up in Dublin city centre.

The work on installing the lights began last night but they won't be switched on until November.

Clyde Carroll is from business group DublinTown who are in charge of illuminating the city each year.

He says it's a mammoth task; "It's going to take four crews working through the night seven nights a week to put 150 Christmas crossovers on 30 streets in this city."

DublinTown says this Christmas is more important than ever for recovery.
