Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool supporters can now make respective plans as UEFA have announced the arrangements for the Champions League semi finals.

After defeating Manchester City on away goals last night, Spurs will host Ajax in the first leg at the new White Hart Lane on Tuesday April 30th.

The second leg will be held at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam on Wednesday May 8th.

Liverpool's reward for comfortably seeing off Porto is a meeting with Barcelona.  The first leg will take place at the Nou Camp on Wednesday May 1st, with the return game at Anfield the following Tuesday, May 7th.

Liverpool are the only one of the quartet to appear in back to back semi finals.  They had Roma's measure last year before losing the final to Real Madrid.  Liverpool's last triumph was in the famous Istanbul decider against AC Milan in 2005.  They have won the tournament 5 times.  Their manager Jurgen Klopp led Borussia Dortmund to the 2013 final, but they lost to Bayern Munich.

Barcelona haven't reached this stage since they won the competition in 2015.  The Spanish giants have also won Europe's premier competition 5 times.

Ajax are in the last four for the first time since 1997.  Back then, they lost to Juventus, who they knocked out days ago.  Ajax are 4 time winners of the European Cup.

And one has to go back to 1962 for the only previous occasion Tottenham Hotspur were in a European Cup semi final.  It was the last time Spurs were champions of England and they lost 4-3 on aggregate to Benfica.  Tottenham have won the UEFA Cup twice and the European Cup Winners Cup, but never the Champions League / European Cup.

All matches will kick off at 8pm on each night.

The final will be held at the Wanda Metropolitano, the home of Atletico Madrid, in the Spanish capital on Saturday June 1st.
