West Ham United striker Andy Carroll is set for another spell on the treatment spell after suffering a hamstring injury last night.

The Geordie forward was forced to come off just 15 minutes into the Hammers' 3-1 Premier League win against Bournemouth and could be out for up to six weeks.

Carroll only returned to the field last September after a seven-month absence due to knee surgery and had scored two goals in his last four games.

His manager Slaven Bilic was remaining upbeat despite the setback.

"It's not the end of the world, though. If everything goes well he will be back very soon so there is no reason to be negative.

"If it goes as we expect, then he will be back for a significant part of the season, the last 10-15 games, with enough time to make a huge impact on our season."

It's the latest in a long line of injuries that Carroll has suffered at Upton Park such as; a twisted knee, a damaged heel, torn ankle ligaments and two other hamstring injuries.
