It appears to be the end of an era. The Savoy Cinema is to close the iconic Screen 1.
The 760-seat theatre is to be replaced with five smaller screens.
It's believed a number of events will have to be cancelled to allow for works to begin.
Over the years, the amphitheatre has hosted some of the biggest names in cinema like Steven Spielberg, Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Will Ferrell, Tilda Swinton, Colin Farrelland Mark Wahlberg.
It's not known when the curtain in Screen 1 will fall for the final time.
