Once you’ve dusted the mince pie crumbs off your pyjama top this Christmas, it’s time to start planning a glamorous New Year’s Eve.
December 31st is the perfect evening to gather your friends and family and celebrate what 2019 has to bring.
Here are some of the best New Year's Eve events happening across the city:
Great Gatsby Party
There's nothing more snazzy than a Great Gatsby party. Step back in time to the 1920s and 30s with the ultimate swing jazz experience in The Purty Kitchen in Dun Laoghaire.
Think a fancy setting, old-school style and swing jazz classics and you've got yourself a dapper start to 2019.
Christmas Pantomime
If you want the whole family in on the New Year's Eve celebrations, then there are plenty of pantos happening across the city.
Both The Snow Queen in the Gaiety Theatre and Polly & The Magic Lamp in the Olympia have shows running on New Year's Eve if you're looking for the perfect day out.
Not only have we got three wishes , we’ve got these three singing , dancing and acting amigos too ♂ We open Friday December 21st , so yes that’s only 3 days away
Make sure to get your tickets if you haven’t already done so !!! #PollyAndTheMagicLamp #TheOlympiaPanto #Panto pic.twitter.com/NnEU6MvftV— Olympia Panto (@OlympiaPanto) December 17, 2018
The Countdown Concert
Ring in 2019 with some of the biggest and best Irish artists. With a line-up that includes Gavin James, Hudson Taylor, Wild Youth and Inhaler, the Countdown Concert at Custom House Quay will most certainly be a night to remember.
Tickets start at a very reasonable €29.90 and includes entry to the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment event, a beautiful lighting spectacle performed against the backdrop of the Custom House.
Masquerade Ball
If you're not up for singing Auld Lang Syne in the local this year, then make your way to McGowan's in Phibsborough instead.
The busy Dublin pub is holding a classy masquerade ball with late bar and DJ. You can bring your own mask or come early and get one inside and bring in 2019 in style.
