Neymar banned for Instagram rant

Neymar has received a three-game ban from UEFA for his Instagram rant that followed Paris Saint Germain's Champions League exit.

The Brazilian forward was injured for the tie with Manchester United, which was decided by a Marcus Rashford penalty. That spot kick came in injury time of the second leg at the Parc des Princes. United were awarded the penalty after referee Damir Skomina consulted with the VAR.

Neymar watched on from the sideline as Rashford slotted the ball past Gianluigi Buffon in the PSG goal, but let his feelings about the incident be known after the game. In an expletive-laden Instagram rant, Neymar wrote:

"This is a disgrace, they put four people who know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR. It's just not possible!!! How is a guy going to hold his hand behind his back. Go f**k yourselves."

UEFA have found the 27-year old guilty of "insulting/molesting acts against a match official", and banned him for three European games. With PSG again crowned champions of Ligue 1, they're guaranteed a place in the group phase of next season's Champions League. Neymar will now miss the first three games of their European campaign next term.
