Fulham have confirmed two of their players have tested positive for coronavirus in the latest round of tests carried out by the EFL.

The English Football League would not give the identity of the three individuals from the two clubs that tested positive for COVID-19 but Fulham confirmed two of their players had contracted the virus.

A short statement from Fulham read: "After the second round of league-wide testing for COVID-19 completed by Fulham FC players and staff this week at the Club’s training facility, we can confirm that two players have tested positive for Coronavirus.

"Both players, who shall remain unnamed due to medical confidentiality, are now self-isolating in line with league and government guidance."

Those players or club staff will now self-isolate for a period of seven days and only those who have tested negative will be permitted to enter training ground facilities.

The EFL carried out a total of 1,030 tests on players and club staff on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

The EFL say they will continue to make regular and relevant announcements as appropriate in respect of the testing programme to support competition integrity and transparency.

They also state that every player or member of staff who attends the training ground, prior to entering the site, must complete a screening protocol to detect any symptoms in a manner devised by the club doctor.

Players and staff will also be required to complete a daily medical questionnaire submitted before arrival at the training ground on training days. If this is not submitted before arrival, access to the training ground will be denied.
