Start your engines - RuPaul's Drag Race is coming to the UK next year for the hit show's first ever British version.

The eight part series will air on BBC Three, featuring local drag artists who will battle it out to become the UK's Next Drag Superstar.

Speaking about the news, creator RuPaul Charles said: “I am beyond excited to celebrate the massive charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the Queen’s queens. And before anyone asks, yes, we would be thrilled to have Meghan Markle join us, as we are already preparing a ‘Royal-Mother-To-Be’ runway challenge.”

Actress, singer and radio host Michelle Visage, who is a judge on the US version of the show, confirmed on Twitter that she will be a judge on the UK show.

Applications for contestants are now open and close on the 11th January.

Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Neil Patrick Harris and Khloe Kardashian are among the celebrities to appear as guest judges on the US version of the show, which launched in 2009.
