Wayne Rooney says he has got managerial offers from clubs in England and in the United States.

The former Manchester United captain is now playing with MLS side DC United for the past year.

In his debut season in America, he scored 23 goals in 40 appearances for the Washington DC-side.

He is yet to complete his coaching badges but claims there have still been offers from clubs. He's told Sky that, "I’m still a player and I want to enjoy playing, and then I’ll see which offers are right when I do finish.

"There’s an opportunity for me to go into management straight away, and when I do hang my boots up, that decision will be made on what the ambition of the club is first of all, and what my ambitions are and what’s right for both myself and that particular team."

The 33-year-old had an illustrious playing career in England winning a Champions League, Europa League along with nine domestic titles during his time at Manchester United.

He also has spoken about the potential of Frank Lampard taking over the reins at Chelsea following the departure of Maurizio Sarri after just one season in charge at Stamford Bridge:

“I think it’s brilliant for Frank, but also for any young English players, or players who’ve just finished playing, to see big teams like Chelsea giving Frank an opportunity to prove himself,”

The former England captain also believes that many players who he played alongside with the national squad have many opportunities to take over at Premier League clubs, “I’m sure at some stage over the next few years Steven [Gerrard] will get that opportunity at Liverpool.

“Scott Parker, John Terry at Aston Villa – it’s great for myself, who wants to go into management, to see these lads getting opportunities and it gives you hope that it will happen for you.”
