Waterford have confirmed a trip of new signings as they continue to build a squad to tackle the 2021 SSE Airtricity Premier Division season.

Kevin Sheedy's side have snapped up Kyle Ferguson, Prince Mutswunguma and Jack Stafford.

Ferguson is the son of former Rangers captain, Barry Ferguson. He operates as a centre-back.

Having played for Medaille College in the United States, he spent a short spell at Swedish fourth-tier side, Ytterhogdals IK.

Training has been good, good standard. It’s been tougher because it’s pre-season but by the time the games come around we’ll be really fit and ready to go.

“Kevin and Mike [Newell] have so much experience," Ferguson said, "Having played the game at the highest level and you can only learn from people like that.

"All they ask for is 100% in training so it’s good."

21-year old striker Prince Mutswunguma has bounced around the likes of Cambridge United, St. Neot's Town and Rushden & Diamonds prior to arriving at the RSC.

He's also praised the positivity of Sheedy and his assistant, Newell.

"When I arrived here from the UK, I had to isolate," Prince told WaterfordFC.ie, "I had to train in my accommodation but found myself getting fitter and fitter.

“It’s been quite nice here, everybody has made me feel right at home. It’s nice to be here in the Sunny South East. It’s been great training.

“The works not done yet, I need to get sharper. I’m looking forward to improving my fitness and performance over the next few weeks. I’m feeling fitter and everything is coming together.

“Training here is tough but that’s been really enjoyable. I’m really looking forward to working under Kevin and Mike."

Completing the trio of Waterford additions is Exeter City academy graduate Jack Stafford.

He told the Waterford site, "[I'm] enjoying being back to full-time football.

"Looking forward to a good season. Pre-season involves a lot of running but I am enjoying it. Getting my legs going again and to be fair, pain is a good thing. It’s something you have to get through.

“Made a few friends here already, there’s a great attitude around the place. It’s an environment where people pushing you will make you a better player. Working harder for each other, it’s good.

“I’m a technical player, like playing forward and being on the ball. I like a good challenge as well."

Waterford begin their season away to newly-promoted Drogheda United on March 19.
