The UAE have achieved an incredible victory against Zimbabwe in their final match of the Super Six series to give Ireland every chance of qualifying for the ICC Cricket World Cup.

The home nation Zimbabwe went into the match in Harare with five points on the table, knowing a win would qualify them along with the West Indies while the Emirates had lost all four of their previous matches.

The match went right to the wire after the hosts were set an attainable target of 230 but the green pitch and rain delay didn't help their cause.

In the closing stages, the UAE took three wickets in quick succession and Zimbabwe were left needing six runs from the last ball but they could only manage two.

The result means that there are four permutations looking at the Ireland versus Afghanistan match tomorrow.

If Ireland win they qualify but if Afghanistan win they will go through with the West Indies.

If there is a wash-out/no result, Ireland will qualify due to their superior net run rate but if the match ends in a draw, Zimbabwe will qualify with a better net run rate.

Tomorrow's match is down to start at 7:30am Irish time and it is being broadcast
