Republic of Ireland Under-21 internationals Aaron Drinan and Connor Ronan have both made loan moves.

Drinan's left Ipswich Town for Scottish Championship side Ayr United.

While Ronan's swapped Wolves for English League One outfit, Blackpool.

Drinan was signed from Waterford by current Ireland boss Mick McCarthy in the dying embers of his tenure in charge of Ipswich in January of 2018. He has a contract at Portman Road that runs until 2021.

The 21-year old striker spent the first three months of this season on loan at Swedish Superettan side GAIS of Gothenburg but left when their season came to a close.

Ayr manager Mark Kerr says he's had his eye on the former Waterford man for some time, "He really impressed us at training and fitted in with the rest of the team straight away.

"He is a different striker to what we have got already, he has good height and will be able to stretch the game for us.

"He has already had a couple of loans and played for Ireland under 21s so we are getting him at the right time. Aaron is hungry to succeed and we are thrilled to have got him."

Ronan's similarly well-travelled having recently completed a loan spell at Slovakia's DAC Dunajska Streda.

He led the Fortuna Liga sides with assists (4) before his return to Wolves.

The 21-year old has previously had loan spells with Blackpool's fellow League One sides, Walsall and Portsmouth.

Tangerines manager Simon Grayson is looking forward to adding Ronan's creativity to a side currently 13th in the table but only 5-points off the playoff places, "Connor’s an exciting player and the type of player that we’ve been missing this season.

"A lot of people speak highly about him and he’s had some good experience out in Slovakia, as well as internationally for Ireland at under-21 level.

"We’re looking for him to get on the ball, pick a pass and add something different to the squad."
