Tottenham's long search for a manager is at an end after Nuno Espirito Santo signed a two-year deal with the club.
The quest to replace Jose Mourinho had become a tedious one as a string of potential bosses walked away from the table for various reasons.
Mourinho was sacked prior to the Carabao Cup final in April, and since then Spurs have spoken with Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, Julen Lopetegui and Gennaro Gattuso.
The hunt reached its nadir last week when Gattuso described the club as "a mess" in a conversation with Lorenzo Insigne.
But with first-team training resuming next week, Spurs finally have a man.
Nuno left Wolves at the end of last season, after things stagnated towards the end of his four years at Molineux.
Recently appointed Managing Director of Football at Tottenham Fabio Paratici said, "The brief for this appointment has always been clear, we wanted a head coach that can instil all the values that are important to this football club.
"You only have to look at Nuno’s time at Wolves to see his ability to take a group of players and implement an adaptive style that brings success and allows players to develop and thrive.
"We are all looking forward to getting started in what we hope will be a successful time with the club.”
Nuno will be reunited at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Matt Doherty, who left Wolves last summer for €15m but whose time at the club has been underwhelming.
The Portuguese native must also do his utmost to convince striker Harry Kane to stay with the club.
Nuno said, "When you have a squad with quality and talent, we want to make the fans proud and enjoy.
"It’s an enormous pleasure and honour (to be here), there’s joy and I’m happy and looking forward to starting work.
"We don’t have any days to lose and we must start working immediately as pre-season starts in a few days.”
