Conor McGregor's future remains uncertain today after a sensational fall out with UFC management.

Last night the Dubliner posted a cryptic tweet suggesting that his career in the octagon would soon come to an end.

His coach John Kavanagh fanned the flames when he tweeted to say:

The UFC confirmed that they have cancelled the featherweight champion's rematch with Nate Diaz on July 9th.

They claim McGregor has refused to fly to Las Vegas to fulfill his media obligations and as a result had been withdrawn from UFC 200.

President of the company Dana White confirmed the news in an interview with ESPN:

"Conor did not want to come to Las Vegas and film the commercial and be a part of the marketing. He's in Iceland training."

"Is Conor McGregor retiring? Only he can answer that question. I don't know."

The promotion are currently working on a new main event for the card, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the venue was only opened earlier this month.

Diaz inflicted a first UFC defeat on McGregor by a rear-naked choke submission at UFC 196 last month.

The Dubliner has previously voiced his displeasure with what he felt were gruelling media obligations:

In a short statement the UFC said: “UFC President Dana White announced Tuesday that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been pulled from his UFC 200 main event against Nate Diaz on July 9.”

“White revealed that the decision was made by the promotion after McGregor informed UFC officials that he would not participate in any promotional activities, including a commercial shoot and press conferences.”
