Dublin senior football champions St Vincents were today crowned Leinster champions for 2013.

They beat Portaoise of Laois by 3-12 to 3-9 in a pulsating final in Tullamore.

Mossy Quinn was once again the main man, as he converted four frees as well as four from play.

Ger Brennan and Diarmuid Connolly both returned to the starting 15 after missing the semi final through suspension.

First half goals from Ciarán Dorney and Ruairí Trainor gave Vincents a 2-4 to 0-4 lead, and it seemed that the Dublin champions would cruise home.

But the laois side hit back immediately with two goals, and there was very little between the sides for the rest of the game. They went into the break level at 2-5 each.

Portlaoise hit the back of the net first in the second half, but crucially, Vinnies responded as a Carthy effort saw the green flag raised.

Mossy Quinn and Diarmuid Connolly ended up showing that the Dublin side had a little bit more as they hit late points to establish a lead.

Portlaoise pushed for an equalizer, but Ger Brennan commanded the Vincents back 6 well, as they hung on for a famous win.
