One of the expectations from this year's All Ireland Football Championship is that Dublin will be again be favourites to retain the Sam Maguire trophy they have captured on the last three occasions.

And there is no sign of a decline round the corner. Sean Cavanagh knows a thing or two about their prowess having been part of last year's Tyrone side that was comprehensively dismantled by the Dubs in the All Ireland semi.

Now retired, he joined Nathan on tonight's show and when asked whether this year's Tyrone side can make more of a challenge this year for All Ireland honours, he wasn't hugely optimistic.

"There's nothing to suggest that we are unfortunately. It's one of those. I think every team is waiting on Dublin to drop that level," he said, before casting his mind back to last year's All Ireland semi final between Tyrone and Dublin when it became clear that it would be a task too far for the Ulster county.

"That is a harrowing thought because before that game I was absolutely convinced we would win the All Ireland, absolutely 100%. I didn't think anyone would touch us. We'd wiped every team that year that we played and we thought Dublin was this bit of a thing that the media down in Dublin would've built up and maybe there wasn't a lot of substance there. But we quickly realised there was a fair bit of substance there.

"And look, I think Tyrone are in the same boat as Galway and Kerry and Mayo and Monaghan and these teams that are there waiting on their opportunity. But you just hope that Dublin will drop because it is a bit predictable the way things are going. And I think with the Super 8s, it will only make them stronger because their panel - I'm hearing chat that they've now got two separate training nights - they're splitting their squad into two training sets of 20 in each. They are incredibly strong."
