Manager Martin O'Neill has declared Seamus Coleman fit to play in the Republic of Ireland's crucial Euro 2016 qualifier with Georgia at the Aviva Stadium on Monday.

A hamstring injury kept the Everton defender out of Friday's 4-0 win over Gibraltar.

He trained at the FAI's training base in Dublin on Sunday and O'Neill says he will be in contention to play on Monday.

"Seamus has done a little bit there today. He's feeling much, much better and I think, at this moment, it looks as if he's going to be okay."Friday night's results have brought the boys in green back into the mix. Ireland's 4-0 victory coupled with Scotland's 1-0 loss at the hands of Georgia has put O'Neill's team in pole position to claim a play off place.

They're in third place in group D, a point ahead of the Scots. Ireland are perfectly placed, but O'Neill believes their last win would be meaningless if they don't take full advantage.

"We cannot get ahead of ourselves because Georgia are in a renaissance really. There's a fine spirit about them and they had a good win against Scotland."

"They're coming here on a high and will be trying to win the game. It's a difficult game for us and at this minute we're not capable of being like Spain and wiping the floor with someone."

"We have to battle for it and we have to find some ways of winning football matches."
